In 1965, PEANUTS made the leap from printed newspaper page to full-color animated TV special with the first
broadcast of
A Charlie Brown Christmas. Since then, a variety of TV, video and DVD projects have brought the
PEANUTS characters to home audiences worldwide. PEANUTS animated specials have become an eagerly anticipated seasonal
tradition.
ABC Television Network provides broadcast programming to more than 220 affiliated stations across the U.S. ABC first broadcast A Charlie Brown Christmas in 2001,
and continues to garner #1 ratings whenever it airs the beloved holiday classic—as well PEANUTS specials like It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and It's the
Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown.
WHV provides worldwide distribution for the more than 50 PEANUTS animated specials, including A Charlie Brown Christmas and It's the Great Pumpkin,
Charlie Brown. Seven remastered, enhanced specials were released on DVD in 2008, and six more in 2009. WHV creates new direct to video titles and
short-form content for mobile, web and video on-demand platforms.
JEN has been the exclusive broadcaster of PEANUTS animated content in Japan since 1998. JEN airs PEANUTS TV specials and shows daily via Cartoon Network Japan,
reaching 6.5 million households across Japan.
